Painting on Silk - Nature's Way

Nature isn't always rainbows and dewdrops. Everyone has to eat, and most times it's not easy getting a meal. The tension in this dramatic moment is palpable. Reference photo by Joan McKinnon.

This work has been hand-painted on silk using textile dyes instead of paints. After the painting is completed, the silk is stretched over a padded board and framed in a hand-painted barn board frame without glass to ensure the viewer can enjoy the sheen of the natural silk and dyes. Framed dimensions: 28" x 19".
